Problem Statement
I needed to ensure the platform gathers community-supported projects, letting users promote their favorites. I achieved this through Giveth by using categories, filters, and a check system. I used strong data setups and databases, along with methods for quick sorting and getting data. Plus, I added smart contracts on blockchain networks to automatically check projects, ensuring openness through shared agreement mechanisms.
Objectives
Conduct Market Research and analysis to identify user needs and preferences. I studied the crowdfunding sector and identified pain points such as high fees, lack of transparency, and trust issues.
Design a responsive website that enables users to contribute to public goods and social impact projects while earning rewards through staking. Additionally, the platform provides transparency and accountability, ensuring that funds are used for their intended purposes.
View Life Site
The Approach
In alignment with Giveth's mission, I developed a user-friendly donation process and a solid system for users to manage and view their donations. I also added a secure system for staking/rewards to motivate and involve users. Additionally, I designed an NFT page to display unique digital assets linked to donations that are based on blockchain.

Project Goals
From our research for Giveth, the platform needs to focus on being open and responsible. Users should easily see where their donations go. Trust-building features are important too, like thorough checks for campaigns and projects. The platform should help users see the difference their donations make.
Design Empathy
Research Plan
The goal of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of Giveth as a blockchain-based crowdfunding platform that facilitates contributions to public goods and social impact projects, while also rewarding users through staking. Specifically, this research aims to examine the impact of Giveth on the crowdfunding landscape, the effectiveness of its reward system, and the user experience and adoption of the platform.
I decided to conduct a thorough review of existing literature on blockchain-based crowdfunding platforms, social impact projects, and staking.
This will provide a foundation for understanding the current state of the field and identify any gaps in knowledge that need to be addressed. This thoroughly prepared for in my research plan.
Research Goals
Analyze other blockchain-based crowdfunding platforms to identify best practices and areas for improvement.
Prototyping and User Testing: Based on the insights gained from user research and competitor analysis, design and develop prototypes of the Giveth platform.
Based on the results of user testing, iterate and refine the design of the Giveth platform. This will involve making improvements to the user interface, feature set, and other design elements based on user feedback.

Market Research
My goal for this market research is to understand the market demand and identify potential users for Giveth, Specifically, I aim to identify the target market, user preferences, and key features necessary to create a successful platform.
Competitive Research
It is equally important to research enterprises that pioneer in the market of crypto donation as their products will help me gather insights about their strengths and weaknesses. These insights also help me identify any gaps in features that Giveth might address. I analyzed 3 direct competitors as shown below.

User Interview
I want to ensure that I am designing a platform that meets the needs and preferences of potential users. To do this, I plan to conduct user interviews with potential users to gain insights into their needs and preferences. By conducting user interviews, I hope to gain valuable insights into the needs and preferences of potential users for Giveth, which will enable me to design a platform that effectively meets their needs and preferences.
Research Synthesis
Empathy Map
It is important to develop a deep understanding of the potential users. I created an empathy map to help me understand the users' needs, feelings, and experiences related to crowdfunding and staking.

Insights
Users want to make a positive impact on the world and contribute to social impact projects."
User is concerned about where my money goes when I donate to a cause. "I want to know that my contribution is being used effectively and transparently.
User Researches charities and social impact projects before donating. Looks for information about how the money is being used
User feels Empathy for those in need and a desire to make a positive impact. Frustration with the lack of transparency and accountability in some crowdfunding campaigns.
Needs
Social media posts and advertisements about crowdfunding campaigns and social impact projects
Friends and family talking about social impact projects and crowdfunding campaigns.
User Persona
Based on the empathy map, I have developed a user persona that represents a potential user for Giveth.

Define
Meeting Project goals
Based on the data gathered from empathy mapping and user research for Giveth, The platform should prioritize transparency and accountability, providing users with clear information about how their contributions are being used. It should also offer features that promote user trust, such as a robust vetting process for campaigns and projects, and a platform that enables users to easily access information about the impact of their contributions. I showed the different goals in a Venn diagram as shown below.

Project Curation
I made sure that our platform gathers community-supported projects, letting users promote their favorites. I achieved this through Giveth by using categories, filters, and a check system. I used strong data setups and databases, along with methods for quick sorting and getting data. Plus, I added smart contracts on blockchain networks to automatically check projects, ensuring openness through shared agreement mechanisms.
Donation
I created a system to donate to projects on different blockchain networks, accepting many types of crypto tokens. Users can donate once or regularly to help important projects. Our system uses the GIV token and features GIVgarden, GIVfarm, GIVbacks, GIVpower, and GIVstream.
Givers PFP Collection
I Included Giveth profile pictures to display unique, blockchain-based digital items linked to donations
GIVeconomy
At Giveth, we've set up a reward system. This system gives back to people who help with projects or contribute to society and the world, and we call these rewards GIVbacks. We give GIVbacks in the form of GIV tokens to people who donate to approved projects on our platform. If you hold GIV tokens, you can help decide how Giveth's funds, plans, and goals are managed. By voting in the GIVgarden, you can earn more from your GIV tokens! Plus, you can stake tokens in the GIVfarm to boost your rewards even more.
Ideate
Site Map
I developed a comprehensive task flow and user flow to identify potential friction or confusion in the user journey. This will help make the platform more user-friendly and intuitive. It will also aid in prioritizing and allocating resources for specific features and functionalities of the platform, ensuring that the most important user goals are addressed.

User Flow
Making a simple and easy-to-understand user path helps users move around the platform. They can help with social projects and get rewards by staking. This user path gives a clear picture of the user's trip on the platform.

Responsive Home Page
We made the Giveth homepage to easily display verified projects that make a difference and information about how donors are rewarded for their important contributions. Our team made joining Giveth's mission simple with an easy onboarding process. Users can find many projects that match their values with a clear call-to-action, and stay up-to-date with the latest news on the platform.

Project Listing Page
On the Giveth project listing page, we have many different projects that are presented in easy-to-understand cards. Users can search and sort these projects by categories that match their interests. Each card invites the user to make a change and includes a clear button to donate.

Donation Page
On the Giveth donation page, you can pick from many tokens to donate. There's an easy-to-use dropdown list, so you can be flexible in your support. You can also think about supporting Giveth itself to help their mission.

User Profile
We made the Giveth user account page to show users' impact by letting them see the projects they've supported. It gives a full overview that displays all contributions.

GIVeconomy
This section explains how Giveth appreciates and supports those who contribute to projects and society! Through GIVbacks, Giveth gives GIV tokens to donors of verified projects. Features include GIvgarden, GIVfarm, GIVbacks, GIVpower, and GIVstream.

Testing
Usability Testing
I brought the Mock-up of the website to Test phase for users to interact with. In this process, I gather insights from usability testing, evaluate them, revise them, and retest them. To get prepared for testing, I first wrote a usability testing plan including instructions for participants and the tasks they will be asked to complete, to ensure that all necessary materials, such as a prototype or wireframes, are available.
I then Introduced the purpose of the test to the participants, ensuring that they understand the objectives and their role in the testing, then asked the participants to complete the tasks outlined in the testing script, observing their behavior and recording any issues or concerns they encounter.
Affinity Map
I summarised the results from the usability testing below. After conducting the usability testing session for the Giveth platform, I compiled all the notes, observations, and feedback from the participants. The next step was to group similar observations and feedback together and create categories or themes for each group. Using an affinity map, I visually organized the observations and feedback into related groups. Through the analysis of the affinity map, I identified several patterns, insights, and recommendations that will be helpful in improving the Giveth platform.
Patterns
4/5 Participants expressed a desire for more detailed descriptions and examples of the projects they could support.
1/5 Participants reported feeling lost or unsure of where to go next.
5/5 found it challenging to understand the rewards they could earn through staking on the platform.
Insights
Need for more information about the public goods and social impact projects that users can contribute to on the platform.
The nav bar is visually complicated
The information provided on the landing page is not enough
Recommendations
I recommend adding more information about each project, including images, videos, and testimonials. (High Priority)
I recommend improving the platform's navigation system by making it more intuitive and user- friendly. (High Priority)
Suggested that the platform should provide more information about the staking process and the potential benefits of staking. (High Priority)
Conclusion and Impact
Why is this design so unique?
Working on a project like Giveth allows for the smooth combination of donation options, clear blockchain transactions, staking methods, and a reward system.
What's next in the innovation pipeline?
I plan to get user feedback on the current navigation system through testing. This feedback will guide the redesign. The navigation will be simplified by reducing categories and subcategories, making it easier to find things. Next, I'll improve the information about public goods and social impact projects. I'll include more project details, pictures, and videos to show the impact of user contributions. I'll also find out from users what information they need to decide which projects to support.
